Thanks, finished 82nd not bad as it seemed to attract the majority of participants from clubs, really thought before the race I might finish last :D. Very enjoyable but tough, Miles 1 and 5 are downhill, 2,3 and most of 4 is all a bit of a climb, weather was great and very friendly athmosphere, people only too happy to have a chat and locals really turned out with the kids to offer support, really glad I made the effort to go to this while on holidays with the family.

Hi Woddle. Congrats again on your result in the Deadmans 5 & the tip to visit boards. Well impressed with the number of logs & training tips on the site.

Ended up 85th position in Carrick, 35:17.

Agree totally that it was an excellently organised & challenging event.

    Here's to the next one!

Fair play to you sweater and congrats to yourself, you pushed me hard, How was the long journey home?,are you going to have a bash at Saturdays

The journey home was the easy part of that night! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your holiday.

Won't be running Saturday as I've got to work but I'm looking to do a few longer races over the next couple of months.

Hopefully a half marathon in September. Haven't decided which one yet. I do need a decent goal to keep the motivation going.

You should consider putting a log up here to chart your 1/2 marathon training, you'll be guaranteed feedback, the more runners the merrier, but it can become addictive, a bit sad I know, I'm thinking of doing the national 1/2 marathon myself in Waterford, I think its on the 6th or 7th.
And heres the link for the race predictor I told you about, it offers some training paces also http://www.mcmillanrunning.com/mcmillanrunningcalculator.htm
Best of luck with the training
