What's the best way of sending a cover letter and cv through email? I can send the cv as an attachment but do i write the letter in the email or can i attach the cover letter ???

no write the email like a letter. then write something like "please find enclosed/attached a copy of my CV"

then attach the CV as a word document to the email. I think that's the best way. otherwise its just two filenames and a blank email. not very appealing!

I tried writing the email like a letter before and sending it to my other email address to see how it would look. It turned out all warped looking.

okay well then just write it like an email. like this

    fghfh
    18 vcbb road
    Dublin

    05/08/08

    Dear whoever,

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

    Yours sincerely

    blah

dont bother writing the addresses of your employer cos then it will get all messed up. Just write it like that. It's much better like that than leaving it blank and just including the two word documents. try using Gmail. theyre good for formatting letter style emails.

Ya I always write the cover letter in the body of the e-mail and attach CV. Otherwise it's too attachments and another useless explanatory note along with them. Plus it's never advisable to send a query (which is essentially what a cover letter is - can I have your job) in an attachment as so many of them just don't get opened. Always ask your main question in the e-mail body. They're more likely to open your CV if you letter is good and they can view it straight up but they may not go to the trouble if all the info is in attachments.
