Defo don't scrimp on wet gear.
I am heading to America in a couple of weeks, hoping to get a decent wet suit. Sunderland or Galvin Green. I bought a Kartel one before. it just doesn't keep you dry. and not having wet gear, stopped me playing through Winter, leaving me taking til the end of the following summer to be even half way good again

I bought Kartel pants about 2 years ago, and I swear to never buy anything by Kartel again,(the quaility is very suspect) within 2/3 months holes appeared in the lining of all the pockets, although the waterproof aspect was ok. Buy anything with gortex and you wont go too far wrong, I'm only sorry I had to learn the hard way.
