    Hi Richard,

Do you have a breakdown of what the different grades will be? Also will the order be: slowest race first ... fastest race last?

    I do indeed.
Depending on turnout we may decide to combine races.

    Race 1 Men Standards 22 – 30 and Ladies Standards 17 – 30
    Race 2 Men Standards 17 -21 and Ladies Standards 2 – 16
    Race 3 Men Standards 14 – 16
    Race 4 Men Standards 11 – 13
    Race 5 Men Standards 8 - 10
    Race 6 Men Standards 2 - 7

the order will be slowest race first

    Hi guys,

I've never been out to this track before, and although I know where (well generally anyway) it is, would anyone know what is the best way to get there to avoid traffic. I'll be coming from Castleknock, so can go through the park and up along the quays, or down south circular road/grand canal way. Help/info appreciated.
You still running it Shels. Which way you going?

I will be coming from the other side of the city, but if you go across the eastlink , go to the next roundabout take a right , the track is down one of the right turns between the houses jsut before the GAA club on the left( I'll park here if i can make it).

What's the weather like in Dublin today? Any idea what state the track in Irishtown will be in?

Seems to have dried up a bit this afternoon, not sure what the east side of dublin is like now, but could be an ok evening for a painfull 3k.

There seems to be something a bit funny about the finishing times they had for race 5. Did anyone here hand time it? If so could you please post your times so we can compare them against the results sheet.

Was a good event tonight, first track race for me in over 10 years... went a bit mad for the first 800m and paid for it, but turns out it was my best run of the year :)

    Hey cfitz,
For the last race the time on the clock was ~8:40 when he crossed the line.
Was in race 3 myself and did 11:04. Quite happy with that as same as Shels, first track race in roughly 12 years.
Think I'll do the 2 miles there in 2 weeks, but will have Longford the Sunday before. See how I feel.

Ill post the results up on the website when i get them. As for race 5 . I think i might be able to get the winners time from him. Then you can see how that matchs with the offical time.

Thanks. I looked at the clock as I crossed the line and I thought I'd got a PB but the time on the results list was about 2 seconds slower than what I thought I'd got. So I'm very anxious to find out how fast I actually ran.

Fair enough. Can you check what the exact time was on the clock before it was rounded? The results I saw had no decimal places.

I was in race 5 as well but I didn't see the results sheet. I can tell you how the results compare when they're put up on the website. I know what time was on the clock when I finished.

Hey, those results are up now, any chance you could check if your time matches up?

It's two seconds slower on the results than the clock

rdunne, can you look into this? If someone started the clock late they would probably have noticed. There was a person calling splits as well. Maybe you could check with all the different people involved in the timing to see if there was some discrepancy. I'd like to know whether the time on the results is more accurate than the time on the track clock.

I'm starting to feel like a bit of a git bringing this back up again and again, but I'm getting no response from the BHAA. So if anyone here can help me please do!

For anyone here who ran in the A race at the BHAA 3000m in Irishtown on 13 August:
If you timed yourself, can you please compare your time with the time on the BHAA website to see if it is accurate and post your findings here.

(It seems that the clock visible on the track was showing a different time than the results showed. I want to know which (if either) was accurate.)

    Thanks very much!
