Man on Wire is a 2008 documentary film directed by James Marsh. The film chronicles Philippe Petit's 1974 high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center.

    Anyone seen this?
Was a bit skeptical to yet another documentary making it to the big screen, but the intensity and passion shown within it made it right at home in cinemaland.

It really is a truly amazing story and all the characters are very endearing... none moreso than Petit himself, who probably should win an oscar for his performance! :D What an amazing nutter!

It's out over here. It's only got a limited release so it may not be showing in your local 'plex. Thankfully you've got the Mummy 3 instead...

For anyone wanting to see it, I recommend going along to the Lighthouse cinema to view it, much more relaxed surroundings.

Not sure how wide a release it got, but screen/cineworld/lighthouse are all showing in the town city centre

Very very enjoyable movie. He has such a great outlook and passion for life. Saw it in cineworld, barely anyone at the screening so it was gravy

Went to see the movies.ie screening a few weeks back and its an enjoyable documentary alright. Very entertaining character, interesting story and mercifully not a mention of September 11th! a great documentary in the style of Touching the Void etc, even if it isn't quite as probing as other recent docs.
