    Lucky enough to be over here in NYC for a few days. I'm having a lot of fun trying out some new toys ;)

    Not used to the lenses, not used to the weather (excuses eh?), but I got a few decent shots so far, wouold love to get some feedback;

    Im actually really jealous.. I love New York I went there last year and unluckily my friend got appendicitis and we did nothing for the last few days.. I missed out on the statue of liberty and everything but despite that I just didnt want to come back.. Its really hard to get the money to get there :(

    Anyways I like all the pictures as victor said colors are good and I like the composition in them, about the brooklyn bridge one.. everytime I see a picture of it, its not dead center with all the suspension wires is there a reason for that? Can you see not see the wires dead on?

    Ive got some NYC pictures on my flickr aswell if your interested!

    EDIT: If your still there get some long exposure stuff of the streets at night.. seriously it will look mad!

    FURTHER EDIT LOL: What toys did you get and did you go to B&H? :)

    stat of liberty is overrated daz. It's enough to pass it on the boat

    1, 2, and 3 are all very good.. Nice angles on the first two, not the usual street scape shots... 3 is clever and nice long exposure. The yellow cabs makes it identifiable..

    i really like 1,2, and 4. 5 is ok and 3 is probably just a nice memory i'd imagine.

    i love the blue skies of 1 and 2 and the cab(?) colour and motion blur of 4.

    nice.

    #4 is brilliant.

    They're an original bunch, and in a good way too!
    I was expecting a few predicatable pics, but these were a nice surprise!

    I love No.4, an unusual take on the subject, well executed.

    As a matter of interest, did you have any hassle taking the bridge photos? I know that on another board I keep and eye on (American and Nikon oriented) there seems to be a problem with taking photos of bridges in NY, homeland security related. At least you are coming home with the iconic Brooklyn Bridge photo!

    I actually had a bit of a soft spot for the softball one. Most people don't seem too hot on it though. Like you said alright, I guess the memory of being there adds to it for me.

    No it was the Time Warner building at Columbus Square. It's at the very southwest corner of Central Park. My flickr has some more shots of the square and surrounding area.

    No hassle whatsoever. I walked along it in the late afternoon on a very nice day. There were hundreds of people, locals and tourists, walking and cycling along it. Loads of people were taking photos, though admittedly most were point 'n' shooters. I had no hassle, nor did I see anyone else encounter any problems. That's not to say it could never happen of course.
