Hi, I'm coming from 2nd year and into 3rd year but I have to take a year out for family reasons.

Does anyone know if its possible to repeat a module from 2nd year that i've already passed in order to improve my GPA?

The easiest way of finding out for definite would be to ring the college in the morning and ask. They might let you do it!

Is there any point in looking to improve your GPA for your second year results when only your final year results matter towards the award you get for your degree in the end.

Employers might look at your past GPA. In fact, most do.

as far as i am aware it is possible to repeat a subject that you barely passed to try and improve your grade. i seem to remember hearing someone getting this option but i dont know the full details. as mentioned best to ring the college.

Your best bet for the right answer is to ring the registrar's office. They may have to put you in touch with the school office to sort out the details, but they will get you moving in the right direction.

Do you need to up your GPA to get into 3rd Year or are you just looking to have a better GPA for the sake of it?

If it's to get into 3rd year, then yes, no problem, but you'll be paying.

If you've passed the module, i'm not so sure. Talk to the head of your department and they'll have an answer for you.
