    Hi all,

I'm looking at a Bushnell 4200 elite in 6-24x40 for my .223 for lamping and informal target shooting. Does anybody have one here? What's the going rate for them? What are the "semi target turrets" about? and I suppose finally are they any good??

    Thanks,

    Jonty

I have a Bushnell Elite 4200 3-9x 40 very bright scope and well built.
IMO a completely different league to other bushnell scopes.
I think for lamping a larger objective would be better 50mm if possible and the firefly reticle is a very good idea.
Can't help on the semi-target turrets but they are probably just longer and easier to adjust.

    Take a look herehttp://www.theopticzone.com/

I bought my 4200 6-24x40 for my 223 from them..Great scope..I have it on my 17 hmr now as i bought a nightforce nxs for the 223.

You will have to pay vat on there price as well as delivery but at the end of the day it is still a good price for a great scope. You wont be dissapointed with it..

There's two different model's. The one with the side focushttp://theopticzone.com/detail.aspx?ID=4095 and the one without http://theopticzone.com/detail.aspx?ID=3285

I've got the one with the side focus.

For the extra $100 get the side focus model. Very bright and clear scope for the money.

I've bought a Zeiss Conquest from that lad when I was looking for a Bushnell Elite. I rang him and asked for a bit of help making up my mind and he recommended to get an entry level Zeiss instead. Very happy to have followed his advice as well, mine is a 3-9X470 and it's excellent in daylight just as well as with the lamp. Scott, if I remember correctly is the owner of the place. It's also a real bricks and mortar shop in Connecticut.

AFAIK "semi target turrets" are turrets that have more markings on them than regular turrets... the 4200 has complete rotation markings as well as moa markings.
