Do you have any pictures of what you broadcast from. I have some. They are coming.

I have a studio at home. It isn't worth $8000, but it sound very good and gets the job done.

    Can't wait to see yours!

    I use a Shure Beat 87A.

Its a $250 microphone. Its not necessarily on the high end if you look in the wrong place. There are other cheaper alternatives, but if you want to invest in some equipment for what wwe do, a Shure is a GREAT CHOICE. If you have a microphone, throw up its picture and tell us what it is!

    My processor:

    processor.jpg

    A: Award-winning Class A discrete transistor-based Focusrite pre-amps
This pre-amp demonstrates the same wide bandwidth philosophy featured in the original vintage Focusrite units, ensuring low noise and distortion.

    B: Mid Scoop EQ
The Mid-scoop EQ is a quick and effective problem-solver. With two different depths of cut and an adjustable frequency control, it’s ideal for vocal problem solving or for creating great miked-up cabinet ambience.

    C: Custom Opto Compression
With the addition of variable attack and the unique ‘Squash’ mode (ideal for intense drum sounds or for your over modulated BIG MOUTH like mine!!), this compressor gets you the compression sound you need in seconds.

    D: Pro Series' Latency-free monitoring
Monitor your source signals within the mix, directly at source, avoiding having to resort to monitoring via your DAW or digital desk, both of which may be prone to latency issues.

E: Just the level meter with a neat lil blue light

I use cool edit pro software for editing.

Fago, I think you might have over-edited that post, and now you just look a little bit mad.

    Otherwise, nice set up, Kramer.

What do you broadcast from there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

It's the Near 90 fm studio. I work there and was involved in setting it up.

Cool. What kind of software do they run to play tunes? NexGen?

Mostly presenters will bring in their CD collections.

We have WaveCart and Raduga for play out off the computer systems though.

    Here's a more recent photo:

Lots more on the flickr page here:

Wavecart is mainly used for promo playout. And Raduga is used for playing out programming over night.

Drop me a PM next time you're up and I'll happily give you a tour.

Might even look at doing a excursion to the studios for the radio forum if there is a big enough interest.

Good to see a more technical thread like this in the radio forum by the way. Makes a change from the usual.
