Stingy airlines forcing pilots to fly uncomfortably low on fuel

    Ireland doesn't know the meaning of the words "stingy airlines" ? Aer Lingus charges an extra "seating fee" (presumably if you want a seat!), Ryanair and Aer Arann have a miserly 15kg checked baggage weight limit, and in FR's case for an extra fee. The same Ryanair that tries to ban price comparison websites from showing the high total cost of using their service compared with other airlines - many of whom provide a superior quality of service.

    So running on lean mean fuel reserves is no doubt a topic of academic interest in Ireland, it could only happen in a third world country such as the US, Malawi, Somalia, or Afghanistan perhaps:
