I had the Antivirus 2009 virus on my computer yesterday. I brought it toPC World and the information guy there seemed to remove the virus from my computer. My Norton subs. was up so he removed this from the computer for me, then i bought Kaspersky 2009 from them. After installing this i ran the scans and it found many problems which it resolved- or so i think. Problem is that my internet still isnt working properly-it wont let me perform searches on google, yahoo etc. And i cant get onto Hotmail etc. What can i do?? Could the virus still be hidden somewhere?

What browser are you using? If Internet explorer is hijacked you may be able to install opera or firefox in the mean time to get those online scanners.
Also try booting in safe mode with networking.

Don't boot into safe mode with networking, you will get just get a lot more infected

Try transfer the tools over to the PC via a USB key or try firefox

Hey, I had a similiar problem to you a while back, and it seems you have the exact same problem as what I did. it looks like you have a trojan called vundo or virtumonde it is a very nasty little trojan. It stopped google searches in all my browers except safari for some strange reason. wikipedia has a article on it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vundo_trojan If I remember correctly I was still able to use yahoo on all the browsers though. what i think you should do about it is try use spybot search and destroy and temporily use safari as it doesn't seem to be affected by virtumonde. then try follow these steps http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic18610.html that guide will give you links to software to hopefully remove virtumonde. hopefully that will help you out :) btw if spybot says that it removed virtumonde still follow the guide as spybot sometimes does not completely remove it :(
