Does anyone know what effect this has on wireless reception?

My bro got a macbook from the states, wireless reception is really poor compared to my ibook G4. Only difference seems to be the Wireless Card Locale on his is set to USA and mine is Unknown. Would this make any difference?

Is there anything else that he should check?

My macbook wireless reception is way better than my old 12" PB. Doesn't help, I know.

It does actually, i was starting to wonder if it was possible that the wireless reception just got worse with the macbook.

It just seems really bad. I tried iStumbler on it, but didnt know what to look for or how to change it.

The metal enclosure of the MacBook Pro doesn't help. Macbook/iBooks have always had better reception.
