    Hi,

I am due to fly to the states on Thursday with a friend of mine. He got injuried playing a match on Thursday last and it looks like he will need a knee operation. I havent got my travel insurance yet as I was planning on getting before I go on Thursday.

I was wondering should I just get the insurance now as I most likey will have to cancel the trip or would the insurance even cover me?

Pretty stupid on my behalf not thinking about this before.

Im afraid you will get nothing from insurance now. First of all both of you would have to be on the same insurance policy. Secondly insurance companies will not pay out on any pre-existing illnesses. They would require official documents like hospital and doctors certs/bills etc and it would be obvious the accident happened before the policy was issued therefore would not pay out.
