Its not easy to say EXACTLY what you need without knowing what your situation is but ,in a nutshell, you need an access point at your end and a similar unit at the far end. Each will connected to an 9db (i guess) antenna by rg58 or rg213 coax (N type conectors)and a pigtail to convert it to sma which is used on the wireless units. You can probably do the whole lot for no more than €150. If you want to Pm me I can point you to a company I deal with who can supply everything you need. I have surplus parts here (antennae and pigtails) going cheap from an installation like yours that I did.

If you get your antennas / pigtails etc from FuzzyClams you can the rest of the gear here

    http://wi-pipe.com
    http://wirelessconnect.eu

Avoid Osbridge stuff though , seen it do daft things .

Here's a rough idea of what you could use to make it happen :

http://www.wi-pipe.com/nanostation5-p-314.html one for each of the people connecting to you

    http://www.wi-pipe.com/2360-10dbi-omni-p-97.html antenna for your house

to drive the antenna you can use one of the above units or you can use the gear below , advantage is the gear below has room for expansion and you can control the traffic with it ( so everyone gets a fair share etc etc)

http://www.wi-pipe.com/xtremerange5-p-312.html little radiocard to drive the above

this has "spare " slots for the future and a bit of extra memory

you'll also need a pigtail and cable , just ask and they'll make one up for you

If you already have a wireless router with a single detatchable antenna, then that may do if you place it inside a window facing your friends house. Ideally your friend will need something similar.

Their claims that it works up to 1 km is a bit optimistic.

Can you see your network from your mates house? if not how close?

A booster like this might help:

if all else fails, a couple of 500mW-1 watt amps

but an ordinary wifi antenna placed outdoors should work for 100m

The network can be seen about half the distance to his house.I live is quiet an old house and it has to go through 2 maybe 3 walls before its into the open i would either put the new antenna in the loft or through the loft and on the roof
