So I know you all have had enough of the accommodation threads..

But, just wondering about on campus accommodation.. are there places left on campus for first years.. like I havent booked anything.. was gonna get a house with a few mates.. but that's kinda fell through now.. so.. yeah.. will there be places still available for first years after results day? Thanks alot.. and sorry for another accommodation thread!

Well strictly speaking, there is no 'on campus' accommodation in NUIG....

The closest you will get is Newcastle or University Road, check the galway advertiser website for details.


Cuirt na Coiribe, Gort na Coiribe, Menlo Park and Corrib Village normally have huge waiting lists by now, if you're on it already you have a good chance, as a lot of first years drop out on results day, thats how i got in last year


But private rented accommodation in the Advertiser is probably your best bet

I reckon you could still get a place in Corrib Village if you're willing to settle for a double room. Definitely the best place for making new contacts in Galway although not so great for academic performace or your sleep patterns

I've used Daft.ie and The Galway advertiser for the last few years and keeping a close look (every hr while in galway for a few days...!) on Daft.ie has payed off every time!

Seems to be higher rents being requested in the advertiser. Or non listed... :mad:

If you're trying the advertiser make sure to collect the accommodation listings printoff from their office on Eyre Square on the Wednesday, all the good places will go that evening. You should check the time with them and queue! :rolleyes:

I think haunting Daft.ie is best during the week. Found my current flat 2 weeks ago by ringing the guy 18 mins after he'd posted the ad. He was in the pub! which I took as a good sign.

other than that, get onto the accommodation office in the college you're going to. The advertiser will be manic on Weds.
