Deadly flick. I watched it when I was 14 or 15 in the flicks, back when no one gave a monkeys about over 18's or any of that. Freaked the hell out of me.

Just one zombie.... Bub! Bub kicks ass. Tbh the film is alot better than most zombie films iv watched (iv watched a fair amount at this stage) but the gore in the movie, particularly at the end, thats some great special effects right there!!

Not the best Romero flick but still a decent zombie film.

I love zombie movies, the zombie genre and I could write a Thesis to earn a masters in zombie survival but I fell asleep during that movie.

    It was ****.

Possibly the best of the series and the only one that really successfully created the sense of utter dread that living through the nightmare of a Z outbreak would create.

The setting in an underground bunker was ideal too. It really helped give the impression that this was a last gasp attempt at survival by desperate people.

Ah I could go on about it forever. I won't be watching it though. It still freaks the hell out of me!

Very good film. I hadn't seen a zombie movie in a long time.

Why the hell did the mexican let them in, near the end? Idiot felt the agony for his decision

yeah I never figured that out myself. People do odd things sometimes in zombie movies.

Oh well it was some good late night brain candy last night :)

People do odd things all the time. And when they do it'll only make sense to them.

Probably the psycho Rhodes and his cronies who were out to kill him and the others. Also I guess since he had been bitten he thought he might as well take revenge on the other soldiers before he dies.

Its terrible,no relation to the original, the name is all thats the same, its pretty much a teen slasher and a **** one at that

The "remake" is terrible. It's nothing like the Remero DoTD.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,620 ✭✭✭Roen

Only seen reviews of it and apparently it has absolutely no redeeming features whatsoever.

Nope. The Dawn remake was quite enjoyable. I could never say that about Day 2008. I did a short review of it for the horror forum here

Just so you guys know, there was another Day of the Dead movie that was ported straight to DVD, i dunno if it was supposed to have some connection to Romero's films (Romero didn't do this movie himself). It was called Day of the Dead 2: Contagium and i wouldn't touch this movie unless you wanted to be mentally constipated from watching it, very terrible movie.

Day is excellent....not as good as Night but as good as Dawn in terms of the message that Romero was trying to get across. It is a bleak, bleak movie.

Youtube has some excellent cast and crew interviews with those from Day from the two disc special edition released a few years back....

Check out the part 4 where they describe how they filmed the scene with Rhodes getting torn apart. Felt sorry for Joe Pilato when I heard what happened!!!

    http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Day+of+the+dead+behind+the+scenes&search_type=&aq=f

I'd love if they had made the original Romero script... I think it could have been amazing.
