I'm in Dublin 5 ; no idea about Kildare. Tony from here setup my system. He was recommended to me by few people and i have to say it was justified.
He arrived when he said he would. Had it all setup in record time, afterwards even had a sit down with me explained everything and answered all my question. Professional and very helpful. If he does your area i think you will not find the better man. :D
Give him a ring on 01- 4526039 or check his web site satellite.ie

Agree with Fat_Fingers. However, I came across Clane Cable Systems Ltd (045)868714. Never dealt with them. Just if Tony is unavailable.

dont wanna start anything here but I emailed tony several months ago about his site satellite.ie in relation to the non compliance with distance selling regulations in that:
    a) the site doesnt give his full bricks and mortar address (mandatory) - which is very important factor when buying bulky things online in case they need to be returned, and
    b) more importantly it makes no mention of cooling off periods etc (also mandatory) - its not possible to inspect items "in the flesh" when doing business over the internet so cooling off periods are there to protect consumers who bought something online that wasn't what was expected when delivered

these regulations are very important for the consumer - fortuantely I know them and I know my rights and entitlements, but the next joe bloggs may not. The regs are to ensure online retailers let consumers know their rights. I found his satellite.ie when I was looking for a triax dish and had reservations about ordering owing to the above. I emailed tony and his response was "I don't recall asking you"

tony's attitude to me (and indirectly other consumers) made me shop elsewhere (electroplus)

So you don't want to start anything but you email someone out of the blue and lecture them on your interpretation of distance selling regulations??

For your information I discussed this issue with the consumer affairs people many years ago when the site was first set up and they agreed that as long as the address was provided at time of ordering they had no issue with it. I think they have a better understanding of consumer law than you do.

The full address is not provided as I do not own a bricks and mortar shop and there were security implications in the early years such as bogus installation requests while my house was being broken into and guys calling to my house unannounced at all hours of the day and night.

You made no mention of a triax dish in your email so I would wonder exactly what your agenda is here. I'll rely on my reputation gained with good customer service since 1994.

    the legislation is fairly clear

about bricks and mortar address The European Directive on Distance Selling (Directive 97/7/EC) (pdf) says:
    Article 4
    Prior information
    1. In good time prior to the conclusion of any distance contract, the consumer shall be provided with the following information:
    (a) the identity of the supplier and, in the case of contracts requiring payment in advance, his address;
you make no mention of what the consumer crowd say about cooling off period, but from Council Directive 85/577/EEC:
    Article 4
In the case of transactions within the scope of Article 1, traders shall be required to give consumers written notice of their right of cancellation within the period laid down in Article 5, together with the name and address of a person against whom that right may be exercised.

    Article 5
    1. The consumer shall have the right to renounce the effects of his undertaking by sending notice within a period of not less than seven days from receipt by the consumer of the notice referred to in Article 4...
the rules are the same for everyone, trading from home or not.

Firstly you are not a customer, customers usually intend checking out products or getting information with a view to possibly buying something. Its obvious from the email you sent that you had another purpose in mind, are you some kind of self appointed consumer champion? If so you should realise that customer service is about giving people what they want in the manner that they want it, no amount of quoting EU directives can guarantee that. You are obviously well aware of your rights so why did you feel the need to confirm these rights via the information on my website ?

What any of this has to do with the Op's request is beyond me, if you had purchased something and had an issue thats one thing but you had no intention of doing this. Start a thread in consumer issues to further your agenda if thats what you get off on.

This thread is way off topic, perhaps a lock is appropriate

tony, your attitude is exactly the reason i chose to shop elsewhere.

you talk about customer service yet are not compliant with laws to protect consumers and are hostile when its pointed out to you

ps part of becoming a customer involves checking out the place you are potentially going to buy from

Good, I would not want you as a customer having received the email you sent

I think you should look up hostile in the dictionary. If I wish to be educated on consumer issues will contact the relevant authority not someone like you with another agenda.

I agree but how many times have you walked into a shop and lectured the manager on consumer issues with no intention of buying anything?

You have a strange way of not starting things. BTW is your phone number 000000000000? Reason I ask is someone placed a bogus order on the website earlier.
