Meteor-Free Calls Evenings and Weekends: Registration Required

I want to let any Meteor Bill Pay Talk 300 customers know that you must ring customer care, and request to avail of the Free Calls promotion in its entireity. And, as far as I know, existing Talk 300 customers (even if you joined before the promotion came into being) can avail of this offer if they register for it

I recently joined Meteor (after they added evening calls to the free weekend calls promotion) and opted for Talk 300 in order to get free calls in the evening and at weekends.

When looking at my calls on 'My Meteor' I noticed that I was charged for a call in the evening (after 8pm). I rang Customer Care and was told that I was getting Free Calls at weekends, but because I hadn't registered for it, I was not getting free evening calls. It's an opt-in option, and I hadn't yet 'opted-in'. I was told it would be added to my account immediately.

I expressed my disappointment that the adverts don't say you have to register for the promotion, but you can guess the 'terms and conditions blah blah blah' response I got! No great harm done, but not quite up-front in my opinion.

You're incorrect. Anyone who signed up to Talk 300 since the promo has been launched autotmatically gets it if they sign up on a new connection or upgrade and choose the Free Evenings promo. Existing customers on the Talk 300 (05) plan who signed up before the offer was launched do need to ring 1905 to sign up for it, as it's changing the terms of the contract you signed and they can't do it without your permission.

In your case, it was more than likely a technical glitch. I've signed up hundreds of people since the offer was launched and every single first time connection got the evening calls instantly. Meteor will refund you for any calls you were charged for due to the glitch.

The woman in Customer Care did not say it was a glitch, she told me I was not in receipt of Free Evening Calls because I had not registered for it. She described it as an opt-in service.

She did not say I would be refunded.

If what I said is incorrect, it's because I was given incorrect information by a Meteor representative.

She was wrong. Simple as, if what you're saying about signing up in the last 3 months or so is true.

These things happen I suppose. I'll pursue that refund of 50 cents!
