    Hi all,

Have an Acer travelmate 5520 which, every now and again just dies on me.

No syntoms, nothing, just dies as if in a powercut. When I switch it on again, it gets as far as the windows screen then dies again. Either with/without battery. Now, if I leve it for a few hours it's uaually fine (leaving me very relieved to say the lesat!)

It's happened two or three times over the last few months. My question is this: is it something I should be concerned about, or is it something simple? I have everything backed up and save every five minutes, so it's unlikely to lose me anything important. Iv'e checked the fans to make sure they're not blocked (from the outside), but don't want to take it apart and void the warranty. Nor do I want to ship it to the UK for 4-6 weeks unless it's asbolutely nessecary.

    Any input greatfull!

    thanks,

    p.

Pardon the ignorance, but, how do you blast the fan vents...? And are we talking about common hoover vacuum cleaner just to suck out anything blocking the vents?
