so, my question for you all is from where do you draw you courage from? this is kind of a general question. we all at some time or other have to do things that we find hard. from where do you draw your courage, or even strength from?
    thanks.

Courage comes from the same house as fear. Fear is negative energy that is regressive and implosive but by an act of will it can be converted to a more positive constructive kind.

You kinda have to phrase your PI in the form of... well a PI. Its like Jeopardy a bit.

Problems finding your courage OP? If this isnt a PI this discussion can carry on in Humanities. To be honest I never thought about the subject. Its not something I see as a locatable reservoir or anything; you're either brave enough to do something or you aren't. Sometimes you have to talk yourself into it.

This is PI and isn't generally for such questions.
    Could you be more sepcific.
    But courage is drawn from
    1) Within
    2) looking at others and drawing strength from it.
    3) realsiing that the worst that can happen is going to be a learning curve.
    4) confronting your own daemons
    5) realsing that if you don't take the chance on something you will have lost in the long run (relationships, being a prme example|)
    6) realsiing that you are human and make mistakes
    7) that life is to be lived in its entirety
    8) that fear is only as large as you want it to be.

    Not exhaustive
but in the end its you and you alone who can look at yourself and see whats stopping you.
That in itself is a brave first step. ;).

Now could you be more specific as this is not a PI typpe thread

In my opinion courage is like willpower - you're not born with it. You have to develop it for yourself by confronting things head on. This gives you the courage to confront the next thing because you know you can do it and it won't kill you.
Nobody else can give it to you, but their support can help.

People think too much and get confused.

Courage is the capacity to stop thinking and go for it. Keep it simple and act.

    Nike. Just do it!

On a personal level, I think courage is that thing that takes over when you decide consiously to take on or confront something that truly frightens you.

Facing a bereavment with courage involves confronting the death, facing down a fear with courage involves confronting the fear etc.

Facing the future with courage involves confronting all your worries or fears and moving forward anyway regardless.

Courage is the ability to hear the voice of fear inside, and making the decision to ignore it.

    For me that is....

I guess you just don't think about doing the things you fear too much. The paralysis of analysis and all that. Once you start to let fear and doubt enter your mind about even the most mundane tasks, you hit a wall.
