    Hi

Recently booked a holiday to Santa Ponsa in Majorca, booked the flights and accomodation, with Aer Lingus and wshtravel.com respectively. It's a lads holiday good group of us staying in the Holiday Park apartments for the first week of september.

Was just wondering could anyone give me any feedback as regards the resort/nightlife/drink prices etc.? Also what's Magaluf like/BCM club etc? All feedback is appreciated.

First of all, jealous! U lucky boy! ;) We stayed in Palma Nova which is between Santa P and Magaluf. We only went to Magaluf 2 nights, and Santa P the rest of the time. BCM is epic, definitely demands a look. You pay €30 in and it's free drinks all nite, a famous DJ, and is open all night long. Aside from BCM, Magaluf is very English. Can be loutish and a bit rough so we only checked it out one night besides BCM.

Santa Ponsa is amazing. There's a strip of bars including Hotshots that you can sit outside and get slowly pished! Also shout at the people passing! :P They do offers here like Pint of vodka and red bull for €6 etc and they'll give u free shots every few rounds. Then when you've enough of these places you move onto either the Shamrock (Live Irish trad band, MAD!) or Greenhills disco bar (My favourite, complete and utter madness!). You probably won't want to leave Greenhills or be physically incapable of leavaing, but if you do, there's a few clubs. The only one we ever went to was Inferno, good spot from what I can remember! :D

Realistically you're gonna be budgeting about €100 a night if you don't wanna be watching your money. You could always drink in the apartment first which significantly cuts down the cost of your night though as Drink costs nothing in the supermarkets. Food is relatively cheap aswell and very good there.

    Enjoy! :)

Sounds good! I was getting a little worried as I have read a few reviews on various sites and a lot claim that Santa Ponsa is primarily a family resort and less hectic than Magaluf, we're pretty much looking for a party holiday as you may have guessed considering there's like 10 of us heading over! Yeah money won't really by an issue on this holiday, we've worked all summer and there'll be no draw back :D!

Is Magaluf dangerous for Irish, I know that sounds silly but being Irish will you be targeted for fights etc.? Thankfully none of our group have any issues with the English, however one lad that was ment to come but is no longer would probably have prevented us from visiting magaluf because he is very much anti-british.. Silly I know.

Any feedback on the excursions during the day, just incase we get fed up of drinking by the pool all day and want to go drinking elsewhere..ha:p whats the Waterparks etc like also are there watersports on the beach etc?

We're not really looking for the whole trad sessions scene, we can get that in any country pub over here at the weekends, are greenhills and inferno etc. more or less nightclubs or what?

If anyone has been to Tenerife or Salou how would it compare?

Magaluf isn't dangerous for the Irish but when we went there we still felt a bit intimidated. None of us were big into dance music, so the scene over there didn't appeal to us. We only went once, then got a taxi back early to Sant Ponsa.

It was 8 years ago now (Jaysus), but it probably hasn't changed. Santa Ponsa isn't much of a family resort. Some of the hotels have the usual family fluff such as cabaret on, but most of the action is down on the strip. There are about 50 clubs/pubs and most of them are good fun and primarily styled as nightclubs more than pubs. It's a big lads/girls party town so most of the people you meet will be 21 and under.

We partied every night. The usual drinking till 5am, getting up at 2pm, going to the beach, start drinking again at 5pm and so on.

When we were there, there were banana boats and pedal boats on the main beach and also a very good water park a few miles away - we organised a trip on a bus through some company.

You'll have a great time with 10 young fellas.

Thanks for all the great feedback! Really looking forward to it, we'll havta brave Magaluf for one or two nights Sander van Doorm is playing the day after we arrive so perhaps we'll get to that!

Anyone have any ideas what the Holiday Park apartments are like? I've looked at reviews on the net but they all seem to be from 2006 etc!
