Does anyone know any coming up? Or even where you can usually find ones in Ireland to enter? I know that local camera shops etc sometimes have competitions, but without actually checking in the shops, is there a site where you can find them?

    Cheers

There's one live over at South Dublin County Libraries. Runs until end of August if anyone fanciers a trip into the South Dublin County area.

The conditions appear to be fair - you don't seem to be signing away your granny's life or anything.

    • Entry is free and open to all
    • Entrants do not have to reside in the County
    • Photographs must be relevant to the South Dublin County administrative area, otherwise they are deemed ineligible
    • A maximum of three photos per person may be entered
    • Entries must be submitted in JPEG format only and no bigger than 2MB in size
    • Entries must be emailed to: oidhreacht2008@gmail.com
    • There are two categories – Under 18 and Adult: Under 18 entrants must be aged under 18 on the closing date of 31st August 2008
    • By entering you are granting permission to South Dublin County Libraries to reproduce winning entries for promotional purposes
    • All entries must be the property of the entrant
    • Entrants must agree to be bound by the rules
    • The judges decision is final

The South Dublin County administrative area covers places like Clondalkin, Lucan, Tallaght, Rathfarnham & Terenure. More details can be found here on the South Dublin County Council site.

jasus it shows how bad the recession is when you have garda hiding like that. It won't be long until they have the wheelie bins with cameras built in like in the uk here.... have to hit those targets...
