I was thinking about getting one of these but have a few questions for anyone with one.

Is the deal €20 a month for a whole year, or is it possible to only do it for, say, 9 months?

Can you book a seat for a film in advance with the card, or is it a case of having to queue everytime for your ticket?

And finally, probably the most important question, is it worth it?

No its for the whole year. Unfortunately you cant book a ticket in advance as far as i know, its not like a credit card booking were you can book in advance which is a shame i think.

As far as is it worth it? It really depends on how often you go to the cinema but i think in general the card really does work out good, people say you only have to go twice to make up for it and anything after that is a bonus but there might be some months were you will only go 2 or 3 times but then there is times when you could probably go 5 or 6 times +. For me personally the card has saved me a ton of money over the coarse of having it.

For all the sick people who have gone to see The Dark Knight more than 3 times thing of how much money they would save with this :D i read here that somebody had gone to see it 5 times now thats dedication!

Hopefully that has been a little useful to you if you have any more questions or queries on it stick them up.

Yeah its for a whole year. I think you have to pay for two months upfront if I remember correctly. You can then hand over your bank details for the rest or just pay upfront for the whole thing which is waht I did. You cant book in advance which is a real pain. I had to pay for Batman in advance because I knew it would sell out opening night well in advance and of course it did.

Have a read of this thread, in particular the last few posts from Tusky.

    1. You can't book in advance, only on the day of the movie
    2. You can't skip queues, get priority etc.
    3. It's 20 a month (or cheaper if you get it from the UK), for 12 months
    4. It's worth it if you see more than 2 movies a month

Thanks for the replies. Answered all of my queries.

I'm still unsure of wheter I should get it or not. I'm not too far from the cinema so I could go whenever I want, but it's only when I'm in college. So basically for the other 4 or so months it's a complete waste!

Is there any way of someone else using the card? Say after the college term I give it to someone for the months I won't be using it?

No, only you can use it.

I have one and i'm only in dublin 8 months a year, but if you even use it once a week it more than pays for itself, I highly recommend it. You see things you normally wouldn't because you're more inclined to take a chance when it's "free".

You used to be able to make advanced bookings with them, no idea why they stopped it.

Also, Cineworld reportedly announced that they will soon be opening some Unlimited card only ques.
