    I want to get a new Laptop for college i have a Small budget of about 500 I need it for college work and music editing
    I had this dell vostro 1510 for 431 euro in mind

    That's a pretty good deal. Are you paying extra for the norton. If so I'd ditch it and just use avg, spybot etc which are free but still very good.

    The free alternatives are better than nis 2008. I'd go with 3GBs ram over the norton.

    Antivirus - AVG or avira, maybe a few others. Spyware - spybot and adaware are quite good. Firewall - Comodo or zone alarm. Only use one anti-virus program and only use one firewall.

    AVG imho is the best free anti virus!
