20" Sony Bravia as monitor

    Hi all,

I'm contemplating getting a 20" Sony Bravia for use as a monitor to hook up to my laptop (also a Sony). I wouldn't be watching TV with it, just movies and the laptop would be used.

Has anyone used a Sony Bravia as a monitor? Is it worth the expense or should I just get a regular LCD monitor?

    Cheers for any replies.

If you aren't planning on using the TV end of it then you'll be far better off going for a monitor as you'll have higher resolutions.

    I agree. Monitor for sure.

Just to give you an example. A 20" Bravia will probably set you back about €350. For the same money you can get a Full HD monitor from the likes of Komplett:
