Right my girlfriend an I are 22. We are looking for a holiday in rome! The things that we want to do are

    1. Colluseem (spelt wrong)
    2. Trevi fountain etc...
    3. Vatican
    4. Cistine chapel
    5. Most importantly Mount Vesuvius..the walk up around it etc...

We want to stay in a nice romantic hotel and be safe. Mainly we want to stay for roughly for 5 nights!

Im going to have to meet my girlfriend in Italy as I will be travelling dow from cologne! Does anyone know also what is the best way to get from Cologne to Rome! Is rail the best option! I wouldn mind also maybe stopping off in Brugge by myself on the way to suss out the Buzz there!

    Anyways

    Cheers

    That's some trip!

Vesuvius is outside Naples, not Rome.

5 days is plenty to do everything else, don't foget to see Pallatine Hill and the Forum too.

Erm, you do know that Bruges is way way west of Cologne so unless your planning to go to Rome via Dublin I can't understand how you could possibly see this as "on the way". You do know Naples is on the Southern tip of Italy so is not actually in Rome?? May I suggest you go and get yourself a map of Europe?

cologne is 900 miles from rome and rail would take the best part of 10 hours+, the only way i would do that journey is by air

as the others have said Mount Vesuvius is about 30 minutes south of naples so about a 3 hour drive from rome

    Right, Cheers for replys

Yes sorry I forgot to mention obviously that trip to Naples is an extra day or two and that it is outside room. I just figured that considering their relative close location that there would be someway of gettin on an organised bus tour to Naples for this. With maybe even the possibilty of flying home from here!
