Things to do in / near Holyhead

The wife & I are thinking of going to the UK via Stena Line with the foot passenger fare from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead. Only thing is its a return ticket valid for just about 4 hours!

Is there anything we can do in Holyhead or around in this time? Any information on short walks, buses to the nearest large town, and shopping, is much appreciated.

Also, if we decide to forgo the return journey and return the next day, are there many B&B's the port?

    Thanks,
    ibook

There's a nice kind of coatsal nature walk walk the other end of Hollyhead from the port. Other than that, nothing - and B&B I stayed at there was a bit cr*d really.

But there are busses galore and once you get off Anglesea, Wales rocks!

I like North Wales a lot -- but I make an exception for Holyhead, which is a bit dismal.

Check bus and train times. Good places to visit include Conwy, Caernarfon (both old towns with impressive castles), Beaumaris (slightly less good town with another impressive castle), Bangor (mainly for shopping). Lots of other good places, but difficult without a car and a bit more time.
