    Is road rage common now

An idiot pulled out in front of me and i hit the horn. He gave the finger and then stopped in traffic got out of his car and said he would get me in some -unheard- area, presumable out of town/public view. When I mentioned police he said if i do he would kill me stone dead. Interestingly he did not come very near my car made threats from a dozen feet or more hence some not heard. He said he knows where I live. I don't live there now but some relation does

What do i do have the reg

Would ya stop, sue the f***er for all he's worth!:p

But what you are supposed to do is remain in the car, don't try to aggrovate them, start beeping the horn if you can't drive off and you never let down the window. That reminds me of last week when a woman got out to the driver of the car I was in. She stopped on a dual carraigeway and started screaming saying we were way too close and she worked for the rsa and all this crap, we just drove off and problem solved, she was left standing on a dual carraigeway very red faced not knowing what to do!

But again, just beep the horn, if some lad like that is saying he will kill you, if you start beeping the horn(and thus attracting witnesses) he shouldn't be too long shutting up.:)

As for having the reg, I nearly would report him, not because you should be in fear of your life, but if it was me I would be a bit annoyed that some eejit reckons he can threaten to kill me or a member of my family because I blow a horn at him when(presumably) he was in the wrong. I wouldn't see much happening out of it though' and its your decision so it depends on how you feel about it.

I was only joking about that perfect.
And I mentioned it to my aunty who's a garda, and also in my house at the minute, she reckons it won't be worth following up, that it will do more harm than good. What I said in my post above about beeping the horn and driving off and not letting down the window is what you should do should it happen again, from being in the situation though I know how annoying it is and how your immediate reaction is report them, but he wouldn't get much more than a slap on the wrist at worst tbh.

More than likely it's just hot air. Especially since he was staying well back from your car, if he was serious he'd have probably closed the distance.

..take note of his stance and body posture, then without panicking, or telegraphing your intentions, calmly run him over:)

Only one way to resolve this. A duel to the death.

A good question for your Garda friend might be if it came down to a row, would the person who got out of the car firs be seen as the aggressor?

Someone getting out of their car to someone else would really want to know what they are doing. Its also a great opportunity to get out and vent all the days stress on some unsuspecting individual who thought he was all that (but then learned) :)
