    Hey Folks,

I'm a fairly recent returnee to the world of gaming, having stopped playing when my original GameBoy died back a good 14years ago...Anyway, recently bought a DS and I hear that Gameboy Advance games work in it - my favourite game as a kid was Batman - I'm just wondering if theres any really basic Batman platform games still out there that I can use now...

GBA seems to have Batman Begins - would that be the most basic of them(i.e Like Mario for DS, is it just all but a coloured version of the old game?)..?

    Any help would be appreciated..

    SC

Wow, I remember that Batman game (if its the old B&W platformer you're talking about). I was glued to it too. Very addictive for such a graphically simple game. Great music too.

Not sure if there is anything out now thats like it though... If you're looking for a great platform game, get the New Super Mario Brothers for the DS, any of the earlier Mario games for the GBA (Super Mario Advance/2/3/4) or any of the Castlevania games (GBA and DS).

Thats the one! I got Mario and have very quickly become (re)addicted..! Its literally the original, in colour! So I was hoping there was something similar for Batman, but any of the newer ones seem way more advanced...

    For nostalgias sake: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zW5tj1WCQ8

I'll have to invest in a few of those suggestions so...cheers!

It was such a great game! :D Wasted so many batteries playing that on the old chunky gameboy back in the day!

Sure was, Damo.... half the fun was figuring out what way to shoot the blocks so you could reach the powerups. Ah those were the days.... Feck off your Wii Fits and your Mario. Give us more Batman. :)

Silcocky - if you want to feed your nostalgia, you might be able to play the game on an emulator on your PC. You can download Visual Boy Advance to play it, but you'll need to find Batman yourself. Good luck!

Cheers Mr E - me and my highly untrained tech brain will give it a shot! :o
    Much appreciated!

I might try to track this down to run it on the emulator on my Wii :D

Pity the GB emulator doesn't work (for me anyway).

Between Sunsoft and Konami there were some brilliant Batman games on the GB, Mega Drive and SNES. I used to love Batman the animated series on the GB but it was really tough. One of my mates broke the LCD screen of his Gameboy playing that, headbutt it during a particularly tough section.

Why does Batman have a gun?

How else are you supposed to shoot blocks in order get to the health power ups?

DS + flash card + Lameboy emulator = Gameboy Batman on your DS.

(Runs off to give it a go)

Yeah I got it working on Goomba..... its still a fun game. :)
(Flash card and 3-in-1 card required...)

OT, but I'm playing through the Zelda Oracle games too.... man they were classics.
