I have heard down through the years through very reliable sources that at times the players were not fully committing themselves to the cause ie turning up late for training and low numbers at training sessions.Ialso hear that Micko had some players ready for tryouts until his departure and those players never got a look in under Kearns.

I reckon there is serious miscommunication between the managers etc.The structure doesn't seem to be there to facilitate better players although I hear Kingston is a hot prospect and I do think Laois new goalkeeper is very good.

The potential in the county is fantastic, yes Kingston looks good, but he's raw enough at the level required. With time and some good coaching we could see the best from him.
As for Nolan in goals, he was understudy to Byron for years, and he finally gets to prove his worth.

I dont know what the problem is at county level, whether its a lack of discipline at training, lack of respect for a manager, or a general lack of belief

Maybe if Dempsey takes over, as is being suggested, then he may know how to get the best out of the panel. He has worked with the majority of players under 23 in the senior panel since they were U12's, and coached them all they way through.

Here's to hoping something chages soon....

It doesn't help Laois that Colm Begleys brother is now employed by the AFL to scout for young talented players coming up in the country to send to trials with AFL clubs. Laois seems to be getting hit hardest by this Aussie invasion.
