One way flight into Australia

Does anybody know if they are stricter when entering if you dont have a return flight booked? Heading over next year and not sure how long i'll stay most likely more then a year so dont want to do the return flight thing... any tips or advice?

hey conrad,
as long as you have a working holiday visa, they will let you in on a 1 way flight...I priced a few places...typically usit for a one way flight outta dublin.
usit were 900 but their equivalent in the uk, sta travel were about 650 (buy your own ticket to london, it works out cheaper that way).
im stopping off in south africa on the way...total cost 1050 not bad considering its not really on the route to oz

I had no problems getting into Australia on a one way flight with just the 3 month non-working visa not too long ago.

I've entered Oz with both one way and return tickets with no difference in procedure. They don't actually check your ticket when you arrive. They're more concerned with your visa than how you plan to get home again.
