I don't mind them but not when they drown themselves in my "wake up" tea.

Spiders don't bother me, it's just me cuppa. How can I ever drink a cuppa without that terrible photo in the back of my mind.

Just think, your in the middle of your lunch, having just poured a cuppa. The phone rings or you get called into the office. You get back to your cuppa a few mins later, how can you trust that some thirsty protein filled spider didn't just hop of his web and into your cuppa whilst you were out. AHHHHHHH

The humble cuppa will never be the same again

Needless to say, the cup of tea I made after I threw the above out was carefully inspected at all stages (it was lovely though).

Looks like a Steatoda grossus/nobilis. We apparently never had them here until a few years ago, they've been making their way up through England and have reached ireland. They're sometimes known as the 'false black widow' oooo ! Not dangerous, although apparently capable of biting. We had one living above our front door for a year. It tackled several bees and a cockchafer (maybug) and in one epic battle one evening took down a massive wasp all by its own. We were duly impressed.
