Unlocking the 3 datamodem

    Well, I did it -with the help of this crowd: http://www.nextgenserver.com/

    It's a tricky enough business as the s/w is quite fiddly and it requires you to be running Windows XP. I was forced to sully my iMac with it and that was the bit that took forever -I'd forgotten just how horrible Windows can be. When I finally got it up and running correctly it took many, many goes before I stumbled upon the knack of it but I got there and now my E220 can take any SIM at all -which means happy days for roaming in non-3 territories.

    15GBP. I believe they quote 18,95€ on-site. I kinda wonder if I can do more now that I have my username and password, can't see what's to stop me. Anyway, delighted that I have found a solution to this most annoying of conundrums.

    should have gone with dc unlocker.. 15 euro.. download their program... I've done an e172 usb stick.. and my old 3 Data Card... takes about 3 secs for the program to unlock them... works on xp and vista

    15 euro...a go is there any discount if you've to unlock a few of them......just trying to get my 02 sim working in a 3 one now;)

    e220 success....see screen grab....02 sim working in 3 modem and still using 3 software to connect...change of apn required that's all....works perfect....

    my old three modem.. the Datacard.. actually works better than the new o2 modems... it's the e630 pcmcia datacard...

    if i were you i would do something about your settings.. seems you're only gettin gprs edge... go to the settings panel.. and choose 3g only..

    the auld 3 - e220 is now pushing out close to 3mb...not so bad....:D
