    Straight forward here....

    External Usb for laptop or PCI express card

    Firstly is it watchable is the auaility any way good?

    What makes would you reckomend?

    How much will it cost?

    Any additional software or hardware required?

    1.) Go for usb unless there's something you specifically want from the card version.
    If you decide you won't use it much, you won't be tying up a pci-e slot... and you can share it around.
    Some tv tuner cards run hot... having it as an external device means you won't be increasting the heat in your PC.

    2). It's watchable, but it depends a lot on your source... if you've got a snowy/noisy analog connection, it'll probably look horrible full screen on a high res display... unless there's some fantastic noise reduction technology going on.

    3.) I hear good things about Hauppauge.

    4.) Depends on what extras you want... have a look at the specs, compare, decide.

    5.) No, everything you need should come with it... but again, check the specs... it should list the box contents.
