Topping up 3 abroad?

Hi, my brother is currently in Spain on holidays, and has ran out of credit. I was wondering could I text him a top-up code, but will he be able to top-up? What I mean is does it cost him to top-up? Also is there a special number to call to top-up when out there?
I don't want to go spending €20 and realise he can't top up, so if anyone can tell me it would be great,

He could ring 333 and buy credit using a credit or laser card.

the number to ring is 444 if you were to buy him credit.

I have used the credit card route, never got someone else to get it for me. If he doesn't a credit/laser card you can buy it, I cant see a problem.

The problem is that it might not be free for this friend to call 444 from abroad, it might not even be possible to call that number at all. But if anyone can call that 083 333 3444 number then it is no problem.
