A little bird who's in the know told me TV3 will be launching a lunchtime news bulletin soon enough (1-2 months)

Seemingly they'll be startiing at at 12.30, which seems very early to me

Will it work? whats the audience like at that time of day?

I always get the impression that even the RTE 1pm news is a little thin sometimes

Interesting - by the time they seem to want to emulate their evening news tactic of undercutting RTÉ.

As for interest, it's hard to say. They might be able to transfer over some of their housewives who tune in for Oprah and the like, offering them a bit of news and the promise of more crud once it's all over.

The length of the bulletin will be interesting to see - even in the "on peak" period for news RTÉ's One O'Clock News seems to last under 20 minutes... will TV3 push it up to the full half hour?
