Any good skating areas in Mayo?

    Hi all,

I'm looking for good skating areas for inline blading in Mayo - smooth concrete or tarmac. Large car parks without gravel/chips are nice spots. I doubt there are any specific skate parks.

    Thanks all in advance.

Id say the new car park beside Aldi & Homebase in Castlebar would be a good spot. Nice and quiet in the evenings too....

Nice one Samhain - Empty Retail car parks seem to be the place to go alright - depending on the mood of the security on the day...

New Tesco in Claremorris has a sizeable parking lot, nice steps at the front too for small ollies, but watch out for the security guards.

A bit of the beaten track but, Asbis & Gls warehouses, west from entrance to Knock airport. Never anyone about and loads of space. We used race minimoto's around the carpark there and do laps of the buildings.

    Newport Pier :D

On a serious note though,in Castlebar so should go to the GMIT carpark at the back, loads of steps, railings and nice and quiet aswell (in the evening anyways)

Then there's market sq.,you clash with some skaters for that spot tho :pac:

    Thanks for the replys everyone.

The Carraroe retail park car park on the edge of Sligo has lovely tarmac - loads of space too. I saw a great skating park in Finland - It would be great to get one in the West alright
