Large Capacity mp3 players.

    Hi guys,

I currently have a 20gb iAudio X5. I love it, but it's been too small for me for a good while now. The 30gb version is also just that bit too small.

Looking up other large(ish) capacity mp3 players, I found the iRiver H340. Which looked perfect for me, but sadly unavailable or not made any more, or something.

This seems to be an effect of the trend to separate the market into smaller flash devices and larger (usually HD) Media Players. I didn't think I wanted a Media Player, since all I'll use it for is music. All those video features would be cash down the drain for me.

But I guess I'm slowly coming around to the idea that this is the only way to go for me, and have been looking at the Cowon (or is it iAudio?) A3. It seems nice enough, but would like to have some other options.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Igor.

P.S. I have various vendettas against iPods, Creatives and Sony. So I won't be buying any of them unless they have something spectacularly cool. Don't ask.

    Igor,

I have found myself in a similar position lately. I have an X5 30GB which is sadly too small now and the number of larger capacity players are either media players rather than pure MP3 players, or they are iPods which I too have a vendetta against. The only player I could find that was close to my needs was a Microsoft Zune which is only available in the US but I located one on eBay which is currently on route to me. It doesn't support as many formats as the X5, but more than an iPod and is less bulky than a media player. Don't know if it would fit your needs or not, but was all I could find.

    I migrated from a H340 to a Zen M 60 gig to a Zen 80.
A player with plenty of storage is a must for me.

See the other thread on this board for info on the Zune 80.
