I went to college and did business management when i finished school, then worked full time for about 3 years and went back to college 2 years ago to do computer science because i wasnt happy. It was a big change, and it is tough not having full time wages and having to study at night or at weekends when your friends are all out spending money and enjoying themselves and buying houses etc.....but im glad i did it. Life is about being happy, and if you arent happy with what you are doing, change it :)

I spent 19 years in the same job, left, went to college and took a BA in archaeology and history at the age of 37. Best thing I ever did.

3 years for the BA. I started a Masters but had to drop out for personal reasons. I am back in September to complete it though. I have been on commercial digs but the work is drying up at the moment. I think I may veer towards teaching.

Check out the Adult Education Centre in UCD.

I worked in HR for 8 years and gave it all up to return to teaching - it was the best decision I ever made. I sit my final exams next week, so the course has absolutely flown by! I love it and am so happy with my decision...

Go for it - life is too short
