Just tried burning a cd with itunes, twice and it burns it ok but when i look in windows the audio files are only 1 kb. They'll play on itunes and even windows media player but obviously a normal cd player won't recognise the disc.

I've checked itunes and i have it set on record audio etc etc and these are the discs i'm using
    http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=30001&partNumber=6755270.

Also tried slowing down the burn speed to 16 x but still the same problem, anyone any idea where i'm going wrong ?

How are you doing the burn?

Audio discs on a pc look like they are just pointers to the start of the song, they usualkly are only 1k or so, you may want to try it in a cd player first....

I'm creating a new playlist and then adding the album to that play list and then i burn it, same way i used to do it on an old computer which i no longer have.

I burned a total of 3 cds and none of them work in a cd player. Just tried looking at an old cd i burned that i know works and i see what u mean about audio discs on a pc. Still can't figure out why the player won't recognise the new cds i've burned.

Just tried the new cd in the car stereo and it struggles to read it and then tells me "check disc" then a few seconds later it plays it no problem ! Sounds to me like there might be something wrong with the lead-in ?

Have you used those Maxell disc to successfully create an audio cd before? You can get Verbatum media in Harvey Norman for €9.99 for 50 CDs or DVDs for 19.99 for 50. Never once have they failed me.

Nope never used them before for anything. Used to use Tdk's and they were great, used one of them Maxell ones for a data cd a few days ago and it worked perfect, so audio should be no problem.

Just don't wanna be stuck with 50 cds if it's not the cds that are the problem, cos i don't actually use cdrs much anymore.

The audio files thing is perfectly normal, you'll get that with any audio CD. Windows sees the tracks as 44 byte .cda files with a date from somewhere in 1995. It shows up as 1kb in Details view because that uses the "size on disk" rather than the actual size.
