    Hi all

Was anyone else at the junior international last friday. I was at it and have just read the fight reports on the abae web site. Is it just me or is was the author at anothe event. Some of the scoring was a joke. Haroon Khan ( amir little bro ) while very very good just had to attempt to throw a punch and got a point. Jamie Kavanagh while having a poor enough first round did enough to win after 4 rounds let alone loose by a point on count back. Whats more in 2 or more of the bouts 4 out of the 5 judges were english but i didnt see the same numbers the other way around. Having said that it was a good nights boxing and there was a few future stars on both sides. One special mention for young stephens at 51 kg ..a proper little warrior never gave up and when he won looked like all his christmas and birthdays came at once showed true pride in wearing the ireland vest (for the first time i think ) but well done to all the lads

I had seen the result of the fights but hadn't heard anything about the scoring, not surprising though. The Am's can be worse than the pro's at times when it comes to scoring.

Take for instance A fight which I think has been brought up before on this forum. Egan may not have won but the scoring was an absolute joke. Unfortunately judges in both codes of boxing don't seem accountable for very much nowdays.......not that they ever have been.

A disgrace that bout was. I saw that before. At times, the AM's are a bit like the Eurovision song contest for the scoring!
