Surprised this hasnt been mentioned here. Big news in that we will get a chance in the All Ireland next year which is major progress for hurling in the county. Hurling has been improving consistently over the past number of years in Carlow and this is the culmination of years of hard work by trainers and players from underage level all the way up to senior.

Well done and looking forward to next year!

It was a fantastic win. Brilliant game and for once there was a big Carlow crowd for a hurling match.
Well deserved win after serious efforts been put into hurling here over the past few years.
But we are not in next years All Ireland yet.
There is a promotion/relegation play off with Laois, possibly on Saturday to decide if we go up to the real All-Ireland next year.

Ooops, thought we went straight through after this win. Where is that being played?

Just e-mailed the GAA to ask & they came back with:

    09.08.08 (Sat)
GAA Hurling All Ireland Senior Championship
    Promotion/Relegation Play-Off

Dr Cullen 3.00pm Laois v Ceatharlach
    Park Referee: Denis Richardson (Luimneach)
    (E.T. if Necessary)

Great to have this game at home, lets hope now a huge crowd turn out for it.

It was a pity this game came so soon after the final. A drained performance from Carlow saw them fall short of making the All Ireland next year..
