iPhone 3g - Possible to add entries to the calendar?

This could be complete bull but I thought I'd ask anyway. I was considering an iPhone 3g but a mate of mine said that it is impossible to add entries to the calendar from the phone itself. Sure you can add entries in iCal and then sync with the iPhone he says but you cannot enter them via the phone. This would be a big issue for me as I use the calendar/organiser quite a lot.

    Thanks.

It really wasn't post of the day because the chrislad made a sarcastic retort, assuming that I had seen the calendar/organiser display on the iPhone. I've never even so much as held one in my hand and was simply asking for confirmation/denial of the rumour I had heard.

Post of the day credentials on the wane methinks......

Thank you sir. It all becomes clear. Now I just have to persuade the buggers at O2 to give me an upgrade!

The hard part will be getting an iPhone, not getting the upgrade. Hens teeth are easier to come by at the moment.

Ach well, I might as well forget about it for a good while. I called O2 there to explain my situation and was advised that I am not entitled to an upgrade, nor will I be entitled to one for a long time yet, and I have no intention of buying one sim free - too bloody expensive.

    Thanks for the advice anyway.
