He seems to be a Kevin Myers-lite, with a bit less bile and a lot less anachronistic comparisons. Think he contributes to the Sunday Independent mainly, don't know if he writes for the Monday to Saturday Indo.

Anyway, here are two of his more recent contributions:

    On Quangos

    On Travellers and the Law

Has he generated any of the furore that Kevin seems to generate at the drop of a hat?

I found myself nodding and agreeing with the first bits of his state agency article, but thought he kind of lost the plot a bit in his belittling of the Crisis Pregnancy Agency.

Does anyone know if Pavee Point or other such groups have responded to his Travellers opinion piece?

    Why?

His main point there was that the CPA were making a big deal over something which the figures they provided don't support. As he said: "One in 403 is less than one quarter of one per cent. One in 625 is less than that. A lot less".

Is there something invalid about his point?
