Croagh Patrick - how to get there without a car

A friend of mine is going to Westport for the weekend and, should a miracle happen and the rain stop for a day, she is planning to climb Croagh Patrick. The problem is she has no car and will be staying in Westport.
Is there any way she can get to Murrisk without a car? Are there any buses or tour operator that provide transport to/from Murrisk or is hitch-hiking the only option?

    that's what I thought

is it very difficult to get a lift there? Do people in West generally take hitch-hikers?

Re access to Croagh Patrick - Westport does not yet have a designated taxi rank - except at night on Bridge St ( teh dtreet leading up to the town clock ) There is a plentiful supply of taxis/hackneys. numbers available in local papers or in any pub or hotel.

If hitchhiking try at junction of West Road and Leenane Road just past the housing estate on the Leenane Road.
