    Does anyone know how to get java applets to use antialiased fonts / subpixel hinting?

    I'm running Sun Java 6 (java-6-sun-1.6.0.06, from repos) on Ubuntu 8.04.

    Here's a screenshot of the problem (from taxcalc.eu)
