Quite a high dew point of 20.0c recorded just before 1.30pm this afternoon, whilst air temperatures were still under 21.0c.

    What does that mean Danno?

A detailed explanation here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dew_point - however, at 20c or 21c one would expect much less water vapour in the air because the heat should deal with it, but not today and hence "clammy" and "close" were appropiate terms bandied about. 20c dew points in Ireland are not very common.
