IMO I would usually stay well clear of non-branded projector. Over the years I have heard more negitives than positives on such projectors.

If your willing to change it then take note of the following:
    1. This is a 4:3 aspect ratio projector. Not suitable for Home Theatre, watching movies etc. Fine for Presentations, Digital Signage etc.
    2. It suggested lamp life of 6000 - 8000 hours. I would find this hard to believe. Some of the worlds leaders in projector manufacturing can only achieve 4000-5000 hrs eco. Sound too good to be true?
    3. This projector offers a 1 year return to base warranty. The cost of returning the unit to China could be more than its worth.
My advice to you would be to save for a few weeks and look at something like this HD65.

I have one of these baby's myself and its an amazing home theatre projector and will blow you away. I use mine with my PS3. See attached image. With the 3 year warranty you cannot go wrong and it will have a resale value in a few years when you deciede to upgrade to the latest PJ.

Think you might be able to source it cheaper in the UK?

I agree, this is nothing more than a toy. There are various versions of the same design from a number of ebay sellers, They use a single (usually large)LCD panel and a non-standard projection lamp. it claims to be "HD Ready" by virtue of having a 1024x768 lcd panel, and that's technically correct as HD ready requires the display device to have as a minimum 720 line in its native display, but it's a million miles away from the likes of the HD65 linked to by jmal above, or any other comparable 720p purpose designed hone cinema projector.

From China, one o the projectors you lined to would cost you about €400 at your door, purchase price + import duty + VAT. An extra €2 - 300 and you could have a "proper" widescreen projector with european warranty and very decent picture quality - makes sense to me.

    Ritz.
