    Folks,

I posted here a while back about a problem I was having i.e. have a netgear wpnt 834 wireless & 4port router and last mile business broadband connection uisng pppoe. When I tried to put the last mile settings on the router so that I could connect multiple pc's off of it it would not work. A poster here called pogmothoing suggested I use the openorg dns settings and this seemed to work for a day or two but then stopped.

I have latest firmware on the router and it works fine otherwise but I hate being able to sue only one pc at a time and cannot connect wirelsesly either. Does anyone have any suggetions?

    Cheers Derek.

You need to give folks more info if you want help, are you sure you have your lastmile credentials entered properly, does the WAN light come on, have you rung lastmile and asked them if the router has connected with them, how have you configured your PCs to connect to the router.

Try getting some screen grabs of the router config screens and post them here.

    nilhg,

I can connect to the Internet no problem when I just double-click on the shortcut to last mile icon on the desktop, the pc network cable would be plugged into the netgear router with lastmile cable plugged into the WAN port on router.

The problem is that I dont want to have to click on the icon so I can use the two differnet pc's I have and the laptop wirelessly but for some reason the router will not hold the settings after I reboot the pc. I have latest firmware on it etc.

    Cheers

    Derek.

Ok, its been a long time since I had Lastmile, when you are connected through the router you shouldn't have to click on an icon (I presume this invokes a PPPoE client), you need to set up the PC's to get their IP's automatically and let the Netgear do the PPPoE stuff.

Its hard to know exactly whats going on from your description, can you do a start-run-cmd and when the command box opens type in "ipconfig /all", then copy and paste the results in to a post here.

That's exactly what I want the netgear router to do. I did an ipconfig /all when connected to the PPOE client.
