Planning Permission Query

Have recently been granted an extension on planning permission. However one of the conditions states "all works shall cease after said date unless a further permission or time extension ... is granted". Can anyone through any light on what is meant by "all works"?

What it says on the tin - all works.

You have got an extended permission to have the works completed by a specific date. If they are not completed by that date then you will have to cease the works (anything associated with the building or servicing process) until such time as a further extension may be granted.

    Hope that helps.

Cheers Muffler ... thought that might be the case. Assume painting and decorating is outside of that requirement?

Internal painting & decorating wouldnt really matter. You just need to check the conditions of the original permission to see if there was anything mentioned about painting the walls externally.

In any event I couldnt really see you being hung, drawn and quartered for missing a few slaps of paint. However if you have a mortgage you should check with your project supervisor as to what stage he would consider the works to be completed and can sign off on it.
